The 6th General Meeting for the Conference Headquarters for the Promotion of Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun for World Cultural Heritage Inscription

The 6th General Meeting of the Conference Headquarters for the Promotion of Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun for World Cultural Heritage Inscription was held on 26th, November 2013. Vice Governor KONISHI Tadakazu (Osaka Prefecture), Mayor TAKEYAMA Osami (Sakai City), Mayor KITAGAWA Tsuguo (Habikino City) and Mayor KUNISHITA Kazuo (Fujiidera City) attended the meeting to discuss on the revised target year for the inscription of Mozu-Furuichi Kofunngun on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Here, the Conference Headquarters announces that we set our revised target year for the Inscription in 2017 (i.e. selected for the national representative in 2015) based on the results and problems shown by the Council for Cultural Affairs Special Commission on World Heritage. The 4 local governments, Osaka Prefecture and Sakai, Habikino and Fujiidera Cities, will further continue to work on and cooperate together towards the inscription.
