Chayama Kofun is a round mounded tomb built on the part of the middle bank of Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun [2-1] that extends out like a stage toward the outer moat.
The construction of a mound, as a satellite tomb, on a bank sandwiched between moats is extremely unusual; such a positioning is not seen anywhere else except at the adjacent Daianjiyama Kofun [2-3].
The mound’s diameter is 56 m, and its height is 9.3 m.
