2-3. Daianjiyama Kofun

Daianjiyama Kofun is a round mounded tomb constructed on the part of the middle bank of Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun [2-1] that extends out like a stage toward the outer moat.

The construction of a mound, as a satellite tomb, on a bank sandwiched between moats is extremely unusual; such a positioning is not seen anywhere else except at the adjacent Chayama Kofun [2-2].

The mound’s diameter is 62 m, and its height is 9.7 m. It is the largest round tomb in the Mozu area.

Walk 5 minutes to the west from Mikunigaoka Station on the JR Hanwa Line/Nankai Railway Koya Line.
