Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group World Heritage Management Local Council

Organization of the Local Council

Osaka Prefectural Government and Sakai, Habikino, and Fujiidera City Governments established the Conference Headquarters for the Promotion of Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun for World Cultural Heritage inscription in May 2011, aiming at the inscription of the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group on the World Heritage List. Having gained World Heritage status in July 2019, the organization was renamed the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group World Heritage Management Local Council in December of the same year.
The four local governments, comprising the Local Council, work closely together for the purposes of preserving the World Heritage Site Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group as a common heritage of humankind and passing it on to next generations, as well as promoting community development utilizing historical and cultural resources.
